These SHOES are Made for Walking
"... you can tell a lot about a person by their shoes, where they go, where they've been...." - Forrest Gump
What about hand drawn shoes? What stories do those tell?
For years now, I have always had a pair hand drawn shoes.
Customising it to make it uniquely mine.
Some got worn to the ground, some were given away because people fell in love with it so much that they wanted it, and some got lost along the way.
I had loved every pair. Even if they were never worn by me but were given away as gifts, or the one uncomfortable pair I had (one size too small) because I thought feet size changed like how our clothing size could. Not sure what I was thinking back then! Hahah!
My only regret was I wished I had taken a photo of every pair drawn.
Here is one of my favourite done recently for my mother in law.
True story: I hated drawing roses. I have never drawn hummingbirds. But those two were key elements that was requested in this project. After a couple of practice on paper, I took the leap and started on the shoe. Suffice to say, I didn't have to start over with another new pair. ;)
