Adoption is a beautiful thing.  Almost as beautiful as having a baby.

A friend recently announced their new arrival into the family.  She was born 2 days ago and today, she was placed in their arms and they are officially parents, after a long and painful wait.  I look at the beautiful newborn baby with gladness and yet at the same time sad.

Glad because they wanted children for a while now and when they found out they can't, they decide to adopt.  The wait must have been excruciating.

Sad because I think of Natalie and Jeremy, my sister in law and her husband, who are also in the process of adoption and has been waiting for so long and still no sign of Gabe yet (the baby they have been matched with a while back).  Their wait has been long too.  It has been hard to see them trying to be patient and just be able to see pictures and occasional videos of little Gabe as they wait for all kinds of paperwork and laws that needs to be settled before they can get him.

Life is a mystery sometimes.  The trials that Heavenly Father put us through and what He wants us to learn from it.  Being refined is a painful journey.

My sister in law and her husband came to visit recently.  I have not been doing much photo taking lately and so I decided to push myself for an assignment.  I figured I would make them pose while they were here.  An extremely sunny day can be challenging for photos because of unflattering shadows but that's the challenge and we managed to make it work!  I'm pleased that at least there are a few that I love, and I hope you will too!

She wasn't ready for this pose but I love this shot of her.  It made me think of a magazine cover model no? :)

And of course her loving husband!

Here's one they were goofing off but I love the genuineness of the love they have for each other.
more fun together

Jeremy and Natalie are adopting a baby boy from Korea.  He is the cutest and we can't wait for him to get here to join his adoptive parents and our family!  So glad that they are doing this and we all know they will make amazing parents.
